The Politics of Slumdog Lyrics

The Congress party seems to have made the wisest decision by buying the rights of Oscar winning song ‘Jai Ho’ (Slumdog Millionaire) from T Series. They are using the composition in their election campaign and have recreated the song with fresh lyrics so as to suit their party image. A music video has also been shot.

A source close to Percept Picture Company disclosed, “The ‘Jai Ho’ song has been rewritten while retaining the key words Jai Ho. Sukhwinder Singh, who has sung the original song, has also lent his voice for this. The new lyrics go, ‘Aam aadmi ke badhte kadam, har kadam par Bharat buland… Jai ho... Jai ho’. The lyrics will trace the journey of the Congress since its existence, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi. The music video has already been shot by Percept Picture Company and will soon be on air."

Confirming the news, Navin Shah, CEO Percept Picture Company said, “The music video will definitely hit the bull’s eye. It traces the legacy of the Congress and has been designed so that it will strike a chord with today’s youth, who is yearning for some action from politicians.”
