Kambakkht Ishq is a forthcoming Indian Bollywood film directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The project will feature Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in pivotal roles along with actors Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora in supporting roles. Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone Denise Richards and Brandon Routh will be appearing in cameos reportedly playing themselves.Originally scheduled to release in December 2008 the film was postponed due to extensive production work and is now slated for a release on May 29 2009

Asin fans are set for a double treat in coming months as two of her movies are ready to hit theatres.

Both are big projects. First is Vipul Shahâ€™s London Dreams opposite Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan.

Second is the Hindi dubbed version of Tamil blockbuster Dasavatharam in which she essays a double role. She plays a woman from both the 12th century as well as the 21st century.
Incidentally in both the roles she plays a Brahmin woman. The filmâ€™s USP is Kamal Hassan who plays as many as ten different roles in the film. Another female lead in the film is Mallika Sherawat.

â€œAsin walked into a role which was originally meant for Vidya Balanâ€ says an industry insider â€œHowever due to date issues Vidya had to walk out of the project and Asin stepped in.â€

He maintains that consenting to work in â€˜Dasavatharamâ€™ really helped Asinâ€™s standing in the industry. â€œShe gained a lot from the film since her performance was appreciated on a scale similar to that of the Tamil version of â€˜Ghajiniâ€™.

The Hindi version of â€˜Ghajiniâ€™ arrived only later (in December 2008) and since then her stocks have been on a rise.â€

Asin-New Brand Ambasador Of Tata Sky

South Indian actress Asin who is set to make her Bollywood debut in the film Ghajini has been roped in by Tata Sky to endorse its direct-to-home (DTH) services. The DTH company is banking on the actressâ€™ popularity in southern markets and the new contract is effective from January next year.

Ghajini the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit which also starred Asin has Tata Skyâ€™s other brand endorser Aamir Khan in the lead and will be released on Christmas. Khan would however continue to endorse the Tata Sky and Tata Sky+ brands.

Vikram Mehra chief marketing officer Tata Sky said â€œWe have signed a long term association with the actress Asin and it was not limited to any particular film release. An official announcement in this regard would be made by next week.â€

Tata Sky has started offering Tamil films in its pay-per-view section and also runs the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel offering â€˜darshanâ€™ of the Tirupati deity. It plans to introduce stories in Telugu and Tamil in its value-added service for children Active Stories.

Asinâ€™s popularity in the southern states should help the DTH service better market its product. The actress has also endorsed CavinKare Mirinda and Colgate amongst other brands. A campaign featuring the actress is to be launched soon.
