: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered to block Facebook till May 31 which encourges members to draw Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) caricatures. Justice Ejaz Chaudhry said that the government should record its protest at international level.

Hearing a petition regarding blasphemous page on Facebook, Chaudhry Zulfiqar Advocate said that Facebook hurt the emotions of Muslims with the publication of said page about blasphemous caricatures but the government became a silent spectator.
Deputy Attorney General Naveed Inayat Malim said that PTA has blocked the blasphemous link of Facebook. Director Telecom Mudassar Hussain said that there would be great loss after the complete closure of Facebook. Lawyers and civil society representatives protested the statement of Director Telecom.
The government yesterday had directed the PTA on the orders of LHC to block the blasphemous caricatures link on Facebook. After the directive, the PTA took necessary steps and blocked the link on Facebook.

Jalandhar, January 6 : Punjabi girls now have a reason to smile. Finally, the Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh today categorically rejected the reports with regard to his proposed marriage with Bangalore based girl Priya Reddy and said that he would only tie nuptial knot with a Punjabi girl.

“The report published in a section of press about me getting married with final year psychology student at Bishop Cotton is totally baseless and devoid of the facts. I am not going to marry her. Definitely, I know her very much even as she is just a good friend. But, it does not mean I will marry her,” Turbanator, maintained.

“I came to know about the report when my close friends and family members rang me up to congratulate over my marriage plans. Although I know Priya very well and even went along with her for outings, but it does not mean that I am going to marry her,” he asserted.

“Even my parent scolded me for my reported decision of marriage, which I never took and it was only after my assurance to them to abide by their decision about my marriage, they calmed down,”he added.

Asked about his marriage plans, Bhajji said that he would take decision on the issue only after a couple of years. It will be an arranged marriage and bride, a Punjabi girl, would be selected only by my family members.[via]

A celebrity gossip site has posted a photo which it claims shows Rihanna after the pop singer was allegedly struck by her boyfriend, fellow singer Chris Brown.

The image posted by TMZ shows a pair of welts on the woman's temples, and other marks on her cheek and around her lips. TMZ did not say how it obtained the photo, or how soon after the incident it was taken.



A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman says the agency hasn't released any photos of Brown's alleged victim, and will not release any evidence photos.

Brown was arrested on Feb. 8 on suspicion of making felony criminal threats to a woman that authorities have not publicly identified.

A person familiar with the incident has confirmed the woman involved was Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Prosecutors have asked police to provide more information before deciding whether to press charges against Brown.

Police have not confirmed the name of the woman in the leaked picture or when or where it was taken.

However, she has the same tattoo of Roman numerals on her shoulder which Rihanna revealed at a party before the Grammy awards on February 8, the night she was attacked.

The injuries to the woman's face are also consistent with those said to have been suffered by the singer.

Police said Brown and a woman were arguing as they travelled together in a car.

The fight escalated after they got out and by the time officers arrived at the scene in Hancock Park, Brown had left.

He handed himself in to police the following day, when he was arrested and released on £30,000 bail.

A statement released through his publicist said: 'Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired.

'I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person.'

Both Brown and his Barbadian girlfriend were nominated for Grammys and were due to appear at the music awards show in LA but cancelled at the last minute.

The picture emerged after a leak from the LA police, prompting an internal investigation. A spokesman said the force took its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence 'very seriously'.

Releasing a picture without authorisation was considered serious misconduct, with penalties which could include sacking, he added.

Police are continuing to investigate the case and Brown may face domestic violence charges.

The authentic-looking document, which seems to have been scanned in, has an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences letterhead and what looks like the signature of the Academy's president, Sid Ganis.

"This is the final list of winners of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. As always, please treat this information with extreme care," ‘News.com.au’ quoted the document, as stating. According to the list, Kate Winslet has won best actress gong for ‘The Reader’ and Mickey Rourke has bagged best actor award for ‘The Wrestler’. Heath Ledger has been named best supporting actor for ‘The Dark Knight’ and Amy Adams has won best supporting actress gong for ‘Doubt’.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ has been named the best film while its director Danny Boyle has honoured with best director award. However, an Academy Awards rep has branded the list a ‘complete fraud’ and has said that the Oscar votes are still being counted.

"The document is a complete fraud," Oscars spokesperson Leslie Unger said. "PricewaterhouseCoopers is still counting the ballots and there are only two people there who will know the complete list of winners in advance of the envelopes being opened during the ceremony. "The Academy's president is not advised of the winners in advance and no such list is created," Unger added.
