Govinda delays a flight because he forgot passport

Trust Govinda to get amnesia. Especially when he's travelling to an awards show with family.

On Tuesday night Mumbai's international airport witnessed some high drama thanks to Govinda. The actor and his family were on their way to a film awards event when it was realised that the actor's passport was still at home.

As stars usually arrive late just before departure gates close this last minute discovery added to the chaos. The flight was delayed so that Chi ChiChi's passport could arrive and he could go through the formalities and board the plane.

Says a source "Govinda arrived with wife Sunita and actress-to-be daughter Narmada. When he reached the airline counter it was realised that his passport was not his person. He had forgotten it at home!

Frantic phone calls were made and one of his staff members had to zip back to his residence to Juhu to get it. All this resulted in over an hour's loss forcing the organisers to delay the flight.

A spokesperson of the awards organisers says "We are unaware of any passport issue. Govinda travelled with his family on the 12.30 am flight to Hong Kong.

There was no delay in the departure. He took the connecting ferry to the awards event as scheduled from Hong Kong."

Govinda is slated to perform with Riteish Deshmukh for the promotion of their film David Dhawan's Do Knot Disturb at the event.

Last year at the same awards event Govinda had tagged along an entire group of extended family that included nieces nephews and cousins. This had the organisers perplexed on how to accommodate all of them in the hotel at the last minute!
